Bring on the Brembos ! :clapping

No guesses why these brakes don't work. :laughing2

New discs on, lovely !

Image

FAIL, the carriers are fouling on the discs. :slapme

I shaved off as much as I could out of the corners of the carriers to no avail, still don't fit. :bored

Dist suggested that the hubs on my non-ABS 1.6 K Cabby are thinner than the ones off the 220 Turbo
the brakes are off hence the fouling, not sure if I need hubs or some 2mm spacers BEHIND the discs
to fix the issue and centre the disc in the carriers, never had an issue on my non-ABS 25 but it does
have ABS rings so may have ABS hubs so not too sure. :glare

I will prep and prime the carriers again and get them repainted ready when a solution presents itself.

It looks from the photo's that the disk is fouling the inner edge of the carrier?

During later R8 production, possibly around the time that the new 200/400 was introduced the 'top hat height' of the disks changed, that might be your problem. Unless the perimeter of the disk is fouling the calliper too?

Been told two things now.

One, the hubs on my Cabby are thinner as its a non-ABS car, ABS hubs are thicker.

Two, the carriers are for solid, not vented discs.

Any one else confirm this ?

New hubs have arrived so i'll take a proper look at them on Monday or Tuesday but its that time of
the year to put the car to bed and cover it up, will be cleaning it first as its gone green, ill be placing
heat tube behind the rear seats to hopefully keep the damp and mould at bay.
