I've done just over 60,000 miles. Is there any maintenance that the gearbox requires?

Thanks

Drive shaft oil seals will perish with age and lead to loss of gearbox oil, so its a good idea to change those.

Is you car Automatic or manual transmission?

If yours is a manual it will be the PG1 box.
The Rover PG1 gearbox uses MTF 94 gear oil. Dont let a garage fob you off with more modern gear oil, MTF 94 was developed as a long life alternative to 10w 40 engine oil which these gearboxes were originaly designed to use.

Im not sure of the oil type or service intervals for Autos, but check in you owners handbook as it should has the relevant info for maintenance.

The 45 V6 was only available as an auto. I am not aware that a KV6 was ever mated to a PG1 gearbox? The 75 used a Getrag gearbox which is nothing like as slick to use as a PG1 but at least it doesn't whine like a PG1 when it has done high mileages.

It would seem that the gearbox is the same as the Rover 75`s
The 2.0-litre V6 is exclusively available in a four-door saloon body style, in Club and Connoisseur trim specification, which include alloy wheels, air conditioning, multiple safety features and leather seats in the Connoisseur.

Its all-alloy KV6 engine produces 150Ps of silken refinement from its 2.0-litre capacity, first introduced in the Rover 75, and provides excellent power and torque with the expected Rover attributes of smoothness and refinement. All Rover 45 V6 derivatives have the Jatco 5-speed Steptronic gearbox as standard, offering the dual personality of being able to function as a 5-speed automatic, or as a 5-speed 'Steptronic' semi-automatic sequential-shift manual.
