Guys really need help here, at my absolute wits end!!!! Been pulling my hair out for months now. On my 216 Cabriolet the temp Gauge on the dash board is simply not moving at all and was losing coolant and the radiator fan would not come on. So initially took out the fan and hooked up to a power source and the fan worked fine. Then checked all the wiring which was also fine. Then removed the 'S' shaped coolant pipe and replaced with brand new 'S' pipe furthermore tested the thermostat which worked as it should. Replaced and renewed all pipes from coolant reservoir to the radiator and still absolutely nothing. I was told that it has to be the Temp Sender which sits below the coolant pipe as these sender/sensors can become faulty. Therefore I ordered a brand new sender, fitted it and still nothing at all. No gauge movement and no fan kicking in. Any help at all would be really appreciated as I am getting desperate here

Change the cts as well (just above the sender). This controls your fans based on temp of the coolant.
They fail regularly if after market one and about every 5-8yrs on a genuine.
