rover 214 sei, mechanical wise i think i shud be able to do it, if not ive got a mate who is a mechanic if it goes wrong

Have a look at an old magazine of the club from here

http://www.rover200.org.uk/magazine/summer07.html

It has a headgasket guide in for a 1.6K but the 1.4 should be similiar.

My head gasket is leaking and i wouldnt have the bottle to start a replacement myself :blink I rarther send it to a garage and pay whatever they want :scared

The things "special" to the K series are once the head is removed NEVER rotate the crank as it can disturb the liners . Also before replacing the gasket measure the cylinder liner heights. If they aren't within specification then the the new gasket won't be reliable.
