Chiefly the SEI and Sprint models don't feature in the decoding tables anywhere that I've found so that will be my next mystery to solve. There were also "SE" variantes of the coupe which it would be interesting to see if I can decode that from the VIN or not too because it doesnt feature explicitly in the lists published in the various EPC sources.
I’ll have to look at the car’s code tomorrow and try and decipher it!220 GSi turbo wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 5:23 pm The SEi and Sprint were effectively limited edition (added value) models based on the 214 Si, so I suspect they did not get a unique VIN identifier.
Initial inspection if these particular models in the data would suggest that is the case.220 GSi turbo wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 5:23 pm The SEi and Sprint were effectively limited edition (added value) models based on the 214 Si, so I suspect they did not get a unique VIN identifier.
It is. There never was any specific VIN coding for the SEi, and the trim levels in the VIN coding do not reflect the various combinations or limited editions that have been sold either at home or abroad. For instance, in France, we had the "Sutton" limited edition, based on the 214Si. We also had the "Privilege" one. The so-called "Special Edition" 216 and 214 cabs, the "SE" in two different model years, in addition to the SEi, the "Woodside" limited edition...the list is potentially endless.tompinney wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 5:33 amInitial inspection if these particular models in the data would suggest that is the case.220 GSi turbo wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 5:23 pm The SEi and Sprint were effectively limited edition (added value) models based on the 214 Si, so I suspect they did not get a unique VIN identifier.
