I’ve purchased a better condition external handle for my 91 Rover 416 but I’m having problems disconnecting the rod from the handle to the door catch.
I can see from the replacement and looking inside the door that the rod sits in a white nylon bush and the rod has a rounded end on it.

But I can’t seem to disconnect the two. Anyone got any tips or is it just brute force needed to pull the rod through the bush on the handle
