EsSieJ from the Netherlands says hi.

Post by EsSieJ »

Hello everybody!

I'm Andy, 21 years old. Since I have my driving license I've been interested in Honda's. For the ones interested, I owned A Peugeot 306XSI, Renault Twingo, '94 Honda Civic Coupé, '91 Honda civic HB, '89 Honda civic HB, '91 Mitsubishi Colt 1.8GTi, '93 Honda Concerto 1.6SR, '91 Subaru Justy and now I own a Rover 216GTi, it's with a Honda D16a9.
Bought it for 250 euro's, has been sitting still for 2 years..

I have several plans with the car:
lowering (coilovers, tips somebody?)
Polishing,
Break update (Honda Accord breaks?)
Other D16a9, or maybe a Honda B16a2..
And maybe i'll respray the hood and roof flat black..

Pics will be posted later. :tongue
And if people are interested in pics of my old cars, just ask. :)

Cheers!
'01 Audi A4 1.9TDi
'92 Honda Concerto 1.6SR.

Coilovers are usually quite expensive, however honda stuff should fit at the car is essentially the same as the honda concerto I think.
Most people go for lowering spring and maybe stiffer shocks. Gmax, Koni and Spax all do suitable stuff.
The brakes are usually ok for the 216, however you can fit the larger 282mm discs from the ZR160 and ZS180, along with either the calipers from the same cars or slightly modified 620ti 623 front calipers. The accord ones may fit (as they are essentially the same car, however I'm not 100% sure on that).

I know coilovers are expensive, but I also know that most OEM shocks don't like lowering with just springs. I had it on my Civic coupé and on wet roads it was really terrifying. I've heard good stories about Koni, so that might be a good choice. My plan with the car is more power, so I also want better brakes and better suspension.
ZR160 en ZS180 will be PnP, or not?
I'm new with Rovers, and the Concerto is more Rover then Honda, only stuff from the most Honda D series engines will fit. Suspension is very different.
