Does anyone have any ideas how the solve this problem?
It's getting to the point where I might have to live with it and hope it doesn't cause any problems, such as wind noise.
As always, thanks in advance.

One last bump before I give up..........and torch it to collect the insurance payout!

All sorted. It would appear that I'm stronger than I realised, and I was clearly over enthusiastic when scraping the sticky gunge off. A bit of careful pressure along the outer edges appears to have done the trick.
The moral of the story? Don't apply too much pressure when cleaning the sunroof shade!
Hopefully, I should be able to take it to one or two shows next year......unless I choose the 45 Connie or 620ti before I sell them.

Your persistence is to be admired. Glad you've got it sorted and thanks for posting the solution. Looks great, by the way.
