Period Correct Reproduction Numberplates

Ok, I know that I’m just a little bit obsessive when it comes to originality, but I’m looking to have some new numberpates produced, rather than the horrible ones currently fitted!

I’ve just had a quote back from a firm called DMB for £42 plus postage. Now I know that may seem expensive but that should include the Dealer logo etc., along the bottom........I’ve just emailed them back to confirm that it includes the logo.

Can anyone recommend any other suppliers?

Incidentally, the previous owner changed the original registration number because they didn’t like it. Personally I quite like the ’UGH’, but I’m not sure that I can be bothered to change it back, assuming that I could!

Not silly or obsessive but perfectly normal The new digits look totally wrong on our cars and any others of the period TBH.
I used a firm in Ireland but they were only doing the right size digits - the previous firm I used no longer did them but they did digital scans of the original and were brilliant and came through John B recommendation
Irish firm I used was Plates for cars 3-4 trinity court fonthill trading est Clondakoin dublin 22 ireland cost about £32 from memory
It is the same as these modern cars being "legally" now able to use black plates or putting yellow plates on a pre war car etc. Got to look right and be right.

Do you have any other contact details for them, Paul, such as email or phone? I have seen some of their plates on cars at shows and the quality looks good.

Good to know that DMB are still doing them, I thought they stopped a couple of years ago. And £42 isn't a bad price, really.

Hi Paul, I see if I can find details for Retroplates. Text me if I forget and I haven't replied in a couple of days!

FancyPlates emailed this back to me. They’ve already done the design work, and all for £40 including fixings and postage.

I will probably go with them.
