This could be our first major event of the year and its location near Stamford in Lincolnshire makes it quite accessible for our friends in the North and East.

Information received from the organisers:

"SPRING ROVER RALLY – NEWS FLASH – NEW DATE 23rd MAY
As previously announced we are still hoping that the Spring Rover Rally at Burghley House (near Stamford) will be taking place, but following the news from the Government on 22nd February we have now moved the event to the new date of 23rd May. Given things can change very quickly however, the booking will not open until 2nd April and will continue until 7th May. This gives us the most time possible to learn more about the Covid situation but still time to complete the booking process. At that point if it is clear we will not be allowed to proceed we will cancel the event for 2021.
(As a backup we have already booked the venue for 22nd May 2022 should it be cancelled this year.)
If the event does have to be cancelled nearer to the date and we have already taken your booking, then your booking will be automatically carried over to 2022.

We will be welcoming Rovers of all ages to the event via the Joint Rover Clubs to give people something to look forward to in the calendar. Due to situation we are in and the size of the venue, we will be limiting numbers to strictly 300 cars and we ask you to respect the 2 metre social distancing guidance on the day. THE SPRING ROVER RALLY WILL BE OPEN ONLY TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE BOOKED IN ADVANCE. I’m afraid if you have not made an advance booking you will not be allowed to join our gathering.
There is a booking fee of £7.00 to cover the event memento, programme and administration. We will also be gathering the parking fee of £7.00 on behalf of Burghley House (this has increased since we held the event in 2019). The total is £14.00. This must be paid in advance to the Rover P4 Drivers' Guild with your booking for the event and cannot be paid on the day. Please make your booking via the Guild website – follow the links to the events page.

Rally cards and further event details will be sent out after 8th May – you will need this for access on the day.

The site at Burghley offers many attractions with the house and gardens that should be open. Last year the House was open from 10.30am – 4.30pm. Numbers of people in the House will be limited at any one time to allow people to social distance happily, and stop any queue build-up. It is planned for this to continue in 2021. We will again have the offer of 2 for 1 on entry to the house. House entry tickets will be released once it opens, depending on Government Guidelines. Due to the situation you must complete the following two steps for every individual, or pair of individuals:

1. Book a timed ticket for each person – Booking your timeslot is free of charge on Burghley’s website. Timed tickets will be released 2 weeks prior to your visit generally.
2. Purchase one on-line ticket.

We will issue your Rover Event ID on the day when you arrive and you will show this to the ticket desk staff to be given the second member complimentary access.

You will find everything on the websitehttps://www.burghley.co.uk/plan-your-visit/house-and-gardens. The Gardens will be closed between 1.00 and 2.00pm for cleaning, so visitors will need to plan this into their visit. There are hand sanitisers at all entries to the House, Gardens, Orangery and retail outlets, and visitors are encouraged to use these before entry to any of these points by Burghley staff members. There is a limit of 20 people per half hour. All visitors are asked to wear facemasks in the House and hand sanitise on entry. Dogs are allowed in the grounds (kept on a lead at all times) but not inside the House.

Again we really hope the event will take place but please be aware it could be cancelled at very short notice. Please check the Rover P4 Drivers’ Guild website or Facebook Group before travelling"

I’ve just booked my tickets for this-I’ll take the 75 though for the car’s maiden show visit. Be good to see as many people as possible there!
