Anybody to help me about a few setscrews?

Post by Dorchester »

To fit my new Portuguese splashguard engine compartment KRE10009 I would need

- CYG10006 (total 7)
- FS110207 (total 2)

Rimmers let me wait a whole month (ordered on the 13 June) to tell me today they were unable to provide me with the former (presumably in stock since the beginning)! :cursing

As my backbone forbids me to go twice under the car and as I'm pretty sure a few are missing on the old damaged splashguard, a few of the former would be enough.

Thanks a lot.

They look like the screws that are used in various locations through out a R8 the heads come in two differing spanner sizes. They locate the window regulator to the glass clips? for example.

Brown & Gammons have FS110207 in stock at 60p each

For CYG10006 I bought similar to your photo from ebay in SS M6 x12 Flanged Hex Screws A2 stainless steel £2.77 for ten. ( at that price I bought a whole bunch of various sizes while I was at it to replace rusty ones)

Cheers, Mark

Thank you Mark. Any link plz?
I do agree: FS110207 are easy to find out. It's just the CYG10006...

I think I've found them at Amazon. Not cheap but without shipping & custom fees...

The pics show several dimensions. I've chosen the right ones.

You probably know this already but, if you're going to fit new bolts, especially stainless steel ones, I would recommend lubricating with Copaslip the first time you tighten them up.

Thank you. I knew that it's always better to lubricate bolts & plugs but I'd never heard of it on this side of the Channel but who knows?
I generally lubricate with the grease that my dad used to lubricate his father's pre-1914 8mm gun with.
I hope it does any good. Anyway it never failed.

Greasing threads depends on the thread fit. Metric threads are not a tight fit unlike BSF for example, which were always run up dry to my knowledge.
