18 months ago I got that blue/grey 216SLi that needed welding in the drivers rear corner of the sill. I already had part of a panel from the same job on the Concerto (which was done by a body shop). The intention was for me to "have a go" at doing some cutting and welding to put it back on the road. Since then every time I've thought about it I've chickened out and even recently listed it on marketplace.
I've just had someone out and we fired it up and, much to my surprise, it ran just fine, but his offer was silly low. I still think it's too good to scrap (which is what the offer amounted to).
So I was thinking about actually having a go, but I'd like someone who knows what they are doing to watch over me! I have a cutting disc but no welder, though it seems that you can rent them!
So is anyone with time on their hands willing to show me how (though I'll try to do the work!)?
I'm based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, just to the SW of the West Midlands.
I'll be at Gaydon tomorrow with the white Concerto if anyone wants a chat.
