Key fob programming for a Rover 45

Post by pwlefley »

Does anyone know how or where I can get a new key fob programmed for a Rover 45? I bought a new fob from Rimmer Bros but they didn't know where it could get it programmed other than to contact the manufacturer of the fob.

Any Rover specialist or someone with PScan should be able to help.

If you’d give an indication whereabouts in the country you are, I’m sure someone will be able to make a recommendation.

If it is the Lucas 5AS type have a look at: https://store.rover-coupe.com/services/ ... plied_fobs. The discount code for members can be found at: https://rover200.org.uk/forums/topic?p=105684#p105684

As Colonel Mustard says, we can do that in the Rover Coupe Owners Club. We can supply and program not only the Lucas fobs (we do new or refurbished), but also the round Pektron Fobs (for which we have two options, a genuine rover fob, or a cheaper Chinese clone). and there is a discount for 200/400 members

Depending on your location you can come to us (Oxfordshire, Brighton or Cambridgeshire), and we will be at the MK show at the end of the month. for the Lucas we can do postal, where you send us the ECU and current fobs

I can also supply, cut and programme Rover 75 keys, but that's a new service in development, and a little bit more involved.

Thank you all for the useful information. I do have a rectangular key fob (type 5AS I think) which I bought from Rimmer Bros ( part no. YWX101220A). There is a bar code on the box if that helps. I am based in south-west Leicestershire.
Thanks, Paul.

Hi Richard, thanks for your reply. I would like to go to the MK show this Sunday, but not definite yet. If I do
I will send you a PM nearer the time so we can meet up to do the programming.
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Richard,
Just to be clear, do you need the car as well as a current key fob to do the programming on a new fob, not just a current key fob?
Thanks,
Paul

ideally yes, the current fob as well as the car.

If car is not mobile, you can bring just the 5AS module (its behind the centre console and the current fob, I have a programming lead that means I can do them off the car.
