I'm currently in the process of putting my car back together but am unsure of how the lower edge of the sill flare attaches to t5he sill, I can see the clips (DYC10074LOQ) on Rimmer Bros but I'm not sure how they locate as the sill flares were off my car prior to me dismantling.
Would anybody have any advise or even better a picture of how these are fixed/located so I can get them back on.
I know some people have drilled and used self tappers to hold the lower edge but as I've had the sills replaced and painted I don't want to start drilling into them.
I believe there were headed pins in the sill flange that slotted into a keyhole slots in the flange on the bottom of the sill flare.
When the sills get repaired you lose the pins.
I have the same problem with my 416 GTi and have yet to come up with a solution that is flexible enough to allow the flares and fixings to be easily removed to allow easy cleaning .
Sadly the flares are still in the spares box.

Thanks for the reply, I'm thinking of bonding the plastic locating clip to the sill panel, then I can at least still remove the sill flares for cleaning periodically, the main issue for me is the lower edge of the sill flare and how this attaches as I did not have a reference point to start with as my sill flares were removed.
