Are you CRAZY! You'll burn out the clutch, kill the tyres, pointless engine, drive shafts & gearbox wear, cost a packet of £'s in fuel & in your wallet. You'll draw attention to yourself from the Police. WHY? Why not prove to your friends how economical your car is at normal speeds, performance etc & what a GOOD driver you are? Girls prefer a safe driver, really! Not a "boy racer"! Believe me, we've all been there!
As a driving instructor of some 43 years I could tell you many a "chilling" story I've encountered with "boy racers racing each other at lights etc"! They've mostly killed themselves, girl friends & their friends in the car. It's a horrible sight, mutilated body parts everywhere! I think you must grow up, be an adult & THINK! Sorry if I'm being boring BUT you ARE driving a lethal weapon that will KILL. Good luck, David W

There is a time and a place for speed and hard acceleration, just make sure that you choose the appropriate time. I know its not a nice thought but if by 20 years old you can count on just one hand the number of people you know who have been killed, seriously injured or had a very serious car accident then you can count yourself lucky.
However to answer the original question, the K series engine is quite a revvy engine. Most of the power is shifted high up in the rev range particularly on the 1.4 16v engines. For their size they are very powerful engine.
