I sold my 214 SEI and now gone for top end luxury and economy, bought a 1997 Rover 825 SD turbo Fastback.

SD Turbo, I gather it is a diesel model?

They respond well to turning up the boost a bit - there's quite a bit on the process on www.rover800.co.uk

By the way, I hope the clutch is OK - they are a pig to change and the parts aren't cheap.
