Just bought a rover

Post by Leo »

Roughly 2 weeks ago my father had a Rover 200 ( specific model not know ) as a curtesy car from a local garage after they messed the power steering up on his Ford Focus LX 1.8

The car they had lent him was in very bad shape and was a mockery of the car, but I liked the looks and how smooth the ride was. So I went out and bought one.

The one I bought was a metalic blue / purple ( depends on eye ) Rover 214 l 1.4 Petrol Manual. I really like this car, but there are a few problems

Such as
- Rust on all wheel arches
- Electric Driver window off runner
- Heater / fan only working on settings 3 and 4
- Stupidly high cluch

But, I still love it. I was just wondering if how much I paid for it was reasonable £360 GBP

hi. has your rover got a hydrolic clutch. cause if it has then you cant do anything with it but change it. if it dosent have a hydrolic clutch then get it adjusted. im not guarenteeing but i know a few people with that blower problem that turned out to be a headgasket. just watch out cause thats 1 of the first sighns. cheers

The heater blower not working on 1+2 is a very common problem. It is the resistor pack in the blower unit which are pretty easy to replace.

There are various how to.... articles on the web showing just how to do it and the resistors are available on e-bay I think.
