Anti-Roll Bars

Post by Cemo »

Hey guys,

Was wondering if anyone knows where I can get some uprated anti-roll bars (front & rear) for my car? Links would be great but I want them to be specifically for my car only, none of these universal things.

Cheers 8)

The easiest option is to fit the turbo front one as I think that is thicker than the other models.

Just a tiny note of caution, it is worth being aware, if you only changing the ARB (as opposed to doing a full suspension upgrade), then you'll alter the handling - I *think* initally the car (obviously!!) rolls less, but once you get to the limit it is a lot less forgiving and may suddenly let go, as opposed to the general wash out with the standard set-up. I belive this is particually true if you're adding a rear ARB to a car that didn't have it originally.

Of course, if you're doing the ARBs as part of a complete setup, it should just raise the the whole standard.

FWIW on the rally car, we've fitted a Koni yellow setup, but currently left the ARB as standard. The adjustable shocks allow us to all-but dial out understeer, and a soft ARB is good for traction when rallying on the loose.

Just my two penny worth...as ever YMMV!

Im just sick of the roll with my car when going round corners, feel like I'm gonna fall out the window everytime :? Was told I could upgrade my ARB which would make it better, not sure if there are any other methods?

What is the rest of the suspension like? Is it old and knackered? If so then replacing the shocks might be a good start. Perhaps adding somelowering springs too and then think about a thicker anti-roll bar on the front and adding one to the rear (I don't think they have one as standard).

Suspension is fine, checked everything and nothing wrong with it. Its just the way it was setup i guess but it has a little too much roll for my liking. The handling is also fine, its just I wanna stiffen it up a little so its doesn't lean into corners as much.
