How come every Rover GTi i see has got 216GTi or 220GTi on the back of the car, yet my 216 and 220 GTi only had/have 16v on the back?
My 216GTi was a J plate 1991 and my 220GTI which i curently own is a K plate 1993.
To be honest i prefer it not to have the type on the back... The lil kids in their 1.2 Corsas dont know what their up against
But i dont understand why some have them and others dont. :?
Strange question?
de badged
i believe it was something to do with the car companies de badging the engine type to try and combat the nickablity of the car ie no badge joy rider not aure the car and would leave it. not sure about it but i remeber some along those lines, several car companies did it around the early 90's,
any other 216se cabby owners out there???
