squeal on my 416i

hello i need some technical advice on my 416i, when i start the engine from cold there is a noisy squeal for about 30 sec then it dissapears. What is it and bow can i rectify it. also how many miles have i got left when the fuel warning light comes on?

Hi there ,9 times out of 10 it will be the alternator belt that needs adjusting and i,m not brave enough to say how far you can go with petrol light on, put a gallon in boot and drive till you run out,i,ve never known an accurate gauge yet :wink: .
JUST because i love cars doesnt mean i know anything about them.
