Rover 200 20 Years this Sun- See inside for how to celebrate

Post by Smithy »

The Rover 200 was first launched on the 11th October 1989, making the cars 20 on Sunday.

If you haven't checked in the Events Section then you won't have seen the club is holding a day out for these vehicles along with their Annual AGM on Sunday at the Coventry Transport Museum.

Details of the Event can be found here: http://www.rover200.org.uk/forums/viewt ... f=7&t=3224

I have suggested cars meet from 11am to allow time to look around the museum before the AGM at 1:30pm. Although you are more than welcome to arrive earlier than this.

I've put it on the agenda for the AGM, so all ideas welcomed.

OK, I'll be first....

One event could be a meet at the Heritage Motor Centre who hold an "Autumn Classic" Event each September and I doubt next year will be any different, though they have yet to publish a 2014 calendar.

Sept is close to Oct and may have slightly better weather but they also do a Spring Classic in April/May . http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/ ... lunH7NwbL8

Most of us know the Heritage Centre and it is handily placed in the middle of the country (and very near where I live too! )

Several different motor clubs use it as a meet up event, most notably this year, the Morris Travellers' OC. Disappointingly there was no autojumble, as there was at the Spring one

The centre arrange special parking arrangements - see http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f= ... 9&start=15 which we could do in :-
  • Year of manufacture
    Body type
    Colour
They either have a tame photographer or know one.

If we did the Autumn meet we could also combine it with the AGM to (hopefully) increase the number attending.

(Thinking about this, we probably need a new thread for this topic....)
