Clock display

Post by Jewel 25 »

Hi there, I'm missing the warm glow from my dashboard clock. Any ideas what size bulb it is?

If that is a bubble 400 then the displays in them are very prone to failure.

If it is a 200 or 400 wedge then they are usually more reliable. If the display is dim then it is probably a bulb that has gone. If the display is missing parts of digits then it is probably easiest to swap if for a new/scrapyard one.

Sounds like an earthing problem. Check all earth terminals to both parts. Good luck, David

you have to remove the wood trim. its easy enough and just needs a gentle tug. as far as the missing digits go my car is the same. when i first got the car i went round the scrapies and tried several clocks but none of them were great so i just stuck with the best one that only has a couple of digits missing. mine is the type that also doubles as the radio display but looking on ebay people want way to much for them.

Mines displays intermittently, its a bit random at times, i think it likes to warm up first!
