The Pride of Longbridge Rally 2010 - 10am Hopwood Services

Post by Nudge »

The pride of longbridge Rally will be held on Saturday 17th April 2010, I hope everbody will turn up, its a good day out and there is always a good turn out

The Pride of Longbridge Rally is organised by the Longbridge Community Action Trust which supports those affected by the closure of MG Rover. The annual rally marks the third anniversary of over 6000 employees being made redundant and celebrates the cars, the work of the factory and the people behind it over 100 years.

The format will be similar to last year with a parade of cars starting from Hopwood Services junction 2 on the M42 at 1100hrs (Meet 10.00hrs), and converging on Cofton Park opposite to the main entrance of the factory (Q gate) on Low Hill Lane, Longbridge. The rally is open to all Austin and Longbridge built vehicles including other marques whose engines and gearboxes were built or designed at Longbridge. There is no entrance fee or need to book in advance. Those of you who do not wish to join the parade may go to Cofton Park direct. The rally starts at 1100hrs at Cofton Park.

Hopwood Services Birmingham Post Code B48 7AU

UPDATE 17th March 2010
This year’s event uses a slightly different format than in previous years. We have been informed that there will be no large convoy to the event. However, if participants wish to meet friends and travel to Cofton park together the Avoncroft Museum (B60 4JR) and coffee shop will be open from 9.00AM to serve as a brief gathering point and refreshment stop before participants travel on to Cofton Park by a very attractive route. Austin Federation marshals will be on hand with a route map from Avoncroft Museum to Cofton Park until 10.30AM. Avoncroft Museum cannot provide space for people to wait for a long period of time for others to join them. Those of you who do not wish to join the parade may go to Cofton Park direct.

Giving it some serious thought. As soon as I know my working hours, I can make a decision.
It was a lovely day last year.
