Well i couldn't resist, after some thought i decided to save the 22000 mile 214 Gsi that was advertised for sale on here.
So on Saturday I made the trip to Hollywood, that's Hollywood Birmingham and after meeting up with the Richard who is the Neighbour of the Old lady who was selling the car I drove the 130 miles home.

The car has been owned by the same person since Aug 1 1991 and has covered just 22,500 miles that's less than 1000 miles per year. Always garaged and it was only used to go to the local shop and back.

Sadly the owner passed away about 6 weeks ago and his widow decided to sell their car and leaving the sale up to her neighbour.

The car has the 1.4 K series and this is the first K series R8 I have driven and I've got to say I am impressed, it pulls well and is quiet, but yet again with such low miles under it' belt it feels and drives like a 3 year old car, there's not even a creak or squeak from the cabin or suspension.
The paint has a few marks and scratches but most of the scratches polished out with just a small ding on the front passenger side wing left to sort out.

What colour was it in the end ?

It looks gold but i think its pulsar silver.Its very nice i had a 216 gsi that colour many years ago.

The colour looks like a champagne colour, will have a look on the ID for the code the only thing is I'm getting paranoid about driving it and adding miles *laughs*.

I'm going to give it a service oil,filters etc but what oil should i use? some decent stuff i think as it's almost a new engine any suggestions?

I'm tempted to keep the standard radio and get one of those cassette adaptor things for the cd/mp3 player or even find a Rover branded cd player to keep it looking stock.

My plans are well, nothing just keep it as it came out of the factory but, depending on how strong or weak my arms get I might be temped to fit Power steering if I can find out what the correct parts I need.

you can get 10 disc cd/mp3 changers that plug into the ariel socket tune them in through a radio station. you still get to use all your radio stations too. ideal for hiding away in the boot or under the seat.
