Rear end tidy-up

Post by matthewsemple »

I have been tidying up the rear end (oo er, missus) of my Rover 416 GTi.

I have applied a load more Meguiars trim restorer, cleaned the badges with a toothbrush, fitted some new number plates and added a new dealer sticker to replace the original one that had flaked away. I couldn't get a proper one so I bought a Rover Japan sticker that was fitted to some Paul Smith Limited Edition Minis. My car isn't a Japanese import but it does have a Honda engine, so it's a bit tongue-in-cheek.

Yes, someone must have taken the care to refit them when the exhaust was changed. It's a very original car and even has the original Philips R681 radio/cassette.

Nice to see someone keeping the grey/black plinth and not fitting smoked lenses! :D

Oh yes, you cannot do 'time-warp' with modified parts from later cars.
