The story is that the owner bought it new in 1990 as a 70 year old. He is now 96 and given up driving. The mileage when I picked it up was 26,900 bang on.
It doesn't have much service history (service book is missing), however I have had all the service history printed off by the garage it was serviced at since 1999. I have been advised if they find the book and any other docs (they think it's somewhere at home), they will post it onto me.
Anyway, the car is near mint. The are a couple of very minor scabs, and a bumper scrape, but on the whole I've got to say it's very good. It drives very tight too, and the automatic gearbox is smooth.
It has optional air conditioning too, which blows nice and cold. Manual windows in the back.
Plans for the car are to put some Rover alloys on it (not sure which ones yet) and replace the plugs and leads, and clean up the bumpers which are faded. I already started the bumper as you can see on the front offside.
I also noticed the engine was very hot and took a long time to cool down - it seemed much hotter than my 216 does after a long run. Not sure why this might be and if there's anything I need to look for. Temp gauge was fine on the 170 mile journey home, which was faultless.
