Christmas is coming!!

Post by crank »

I was gob smacked to see that Sainsburys is selling Xmas cakes, puddings, cards etc. It's over 3 months till Xmas for Petes sake!!!
I'm not particularly religious but this just makes a mockery of the whole thing in my opinion.
No doubt all the other major supermarkets are doing the same?

Christmas to me is just one year older, ie my birthday, counting backwards 36!! Christmas therefore starts Christmas Eve and goes away day after Boxing Day. Thats IT. Although it is supposed to be the Mass of Christ's birthday, infact he was born in October! It is now a way of a lot of companies to make plenty of money. Not Christian! Could go on and on..........
Christmas is a mid winter festival invented by the Scandinavians to improve and uplift their self esteem (SAD) because of lack of mid winter light.
ie Santa Clauss is a Scandinavian name! Nothing to do with Christ. And fir trees, (christmas trees), are native mainly to those northern climates, NOT Israel and the near and mid east where it remains hot most of the year. So how does all this represent the Christian celebrations of the birth of Christ? Happy AUTUMN! David W
