The museum opens at 11:00 am and closes 4:30 pm

Entry is £3 for an adult, £1.50 for children (£8 for a family ticket for 2 adults and 2 children). Unfortunately, 9th November isn't one of their main operating days so there will be no bus rides but there should still be plenty to look at. The museum is run by volunteers and receives no government money, so (given that it's not expensive anyway) I didn't think it appropriate to try to organise a discount.

They have a cafe but that really only sells drinks and pre-packaged snacks (crisps, sweets etc) so you should bring your own food and they are happy for you to eat that int he cafe. There is also an outdoor picnic area and the museum staff have said that we are welcome to run barbecues in the picnic area. Beckett's farm Shop nearby also has an "excellent" restaurant if you prefer.

Hopwood services are off the J2 roundabout meaning that they are accessible from both east and westbound carriageways of the M42 and also for non-motorway traffic via the A441 Birmingham - Redditch road. Incidentally, Hopwood Park services are just 10 minutes south of the Longbridge factory (B31 2BQ) and from Longbridge to the museum is another 20 minutes.

Current plans are to meet up at Hopwood Park anytime after 10:00 am and then leave at about 11:00 am to drive "in convoy" to the museum. The museum operators tell me that their car park is plenty big enough for us to find somewhere to park as a group.

Hopwood services to the bus museum is an easy drive of under 5 miles and under 10 minutes, consisting of travelling east for one junction (to J3) and turning north on to the A435 towards Birmingham.

Timings are, of course, flexible as we are a generally relaxed bunch and if you have any questions, please send me a PM or post them below.

Please note: You don't have to have an 800 to come along, you don't even have to have a Rover or another type of classic - just an interest in cars (or buses).

There are no planned events as such - just a get together, a natter and a chance to look at our cars. However, the museum is only 20 minutes south east of Longbridge if anyone wants to pay homage to the factory.
