Hi. Just wondering if somebody could help me out here
I've heard a few turbo cars chatter before if you know what I mean. I want my GSI turbo to chatter instead of having a dump valve. I've been told just to get a panel filter and drill a couple of holes in my airbox but dont like the sound of that so thought i would ask the people that know...
Hope somebody can help....

Chatter is bad for turbos which is why they went to the trouble of fitting a dump valve as standard.
I presume you mean chatter rather than the dump noise.
Drilling the airbox will only give a more audible dump noise, to get the chatter you must disconnect and preferably blank the dump valve off.

I found out lastnight that its not good for turbos off a friend so not bothering with that now. Ill just buy a dump valve I think, safer option.

The car has a dump valve as standard anyway, although you can get atmospheric ones which are very loud! (got one on the missus's car).

A nice free flowing panel filter will make the re-circulating one audible.
