Nice to hear from you .... shame about the crash, looks like a proper off, I just hit a house at the miltary ranges in Caerwent, destroyed the inner and outer wing, bonnet, bumper and bits and bobs, but thankfully the chassis lived, one 220 Gti off ebay later and all is well, but ot looks a bit different, will get some new pics when I get chance.

What sort of rallying do you .... do you do the Roger Albert Clark endurance rally, thats for 1400's. I expect its quite quick for a 1400.

Good to see a fellow rally car man .. well done, I have so many stories about people taking the mickey out of mine ... and then .... :D ..like the EVO 4 that flashed me so I pulled over on a straight and he couldnt get past ...*laughs*.

I have posted pics of mine in the gallery ..... if only I was as fast as the car....

A mate of mine who is seriously in to rallying told me about Enduro a few years ago and it seemed a very cost effective way to go "almost" stage rallying, so we started to think about it and what car we should get.

I had memories of having 214's as hire cars back in the early '90's and I always remember compared with the Escorts and Astra's of the same period the Rover felt twice as quick.

As luck would have it, about the same time a work collegue was selling the 214 for £50 as a MoT expired non-runner. It even had the MPi :), a Safety Devices cage came up on eBay for about £150 and not long after some Colway Road Plus tyres (which you have to use) appeared as well.

We've had quite a few downs as well, we're on about engine No. 6, but as my wife is calling me to bed :*laughs*: that's a story for another day!!

This old girl has turned up at mine! Always fancied one, and am looking forward to doing a few events with her, however she needs quite a bit of work and I'd be grateful for any info you all might have. Thanks in anticipation

Fantastic spec car, and nice to see some rovers terrorising the roads and stages out there. Let us know when you are going to be racing and maybe we can get a few members along to watch.

Thanks for all your comments, I'm looking to be out soon, certainly before the middle of the year. I've had an exciting time this week, having got this one, I've bought another white GSI from Dorset for parts,(same colour so best type of donor) and another blue GSI from the cotswolds, taxed and tested, to practice with in club events in the meantime. The simple logic is, I'll be competing in a car just like my daily driver, so should feel right at home!
