214 cabby immobilized ?????????

hi, wifes 214, k reg, fires up but cuts straight back out, cant find an immobilizer and no mention of one in the manual, any guesses, pleeeeeeease help. ps have changed ecu still no joy. thanx :?

Well I doubt it would be the immobiliser as this would stop the car from starting at all but it could be the temperature sensor as I had to replace mine recently due to the car stalling as soon as I started the engine and tried to drive off. Other than that I'm not sure mate, maybe someone else has a suggestion.

no, replaced temp sensor, fuel filter, sparks, dizzy cap and arm, it just dont want to fire up.

had compression test done, and a mate has done a full diagnostic check, still no good

If it starts then cuts out a second later it sounds like the immobiliser. Which system is it running? (K reg is a change over year).

If it is the 5AS system with radio fobs then the ECU is coded to the immobiliser so you can't just swap the ECU to get it to start, you need to have a matched pair.
