The daft thing is that I have 7 years protected ncb on my Zaffy which even though you can only have it on one car I can't see why there can't be at least some discount seeing as you have proof of being a careful owner.

Exactly, i had 8 years full no claims, before we dropped down to one car.

During the time my NCB lapsed i was driving either my wifes car or a company car (pool car), i don't see why the insurance industry as a whole wipe my NCB just because i did'nt insure a car myself personally for 2 years.

Last year was okay, found several insurers offered decent rates based on my driving history, this year was harder as i had 1 year NCB.

Hi
There has been a lot of talk about people being charged for putting winter tyres on their cars.

Can I just say to save any uncertainty we will not charge for anyone doing this though you do have to notify us if you add them?

May I also wish you all a very Happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.

I am confused. :S Are tyres not just a consumable or am I missing something special about "winter tyres"? Are insurance companies supposed to be notified of a coolant change too, or a new oil filter?

:S Bonker's!! Letting insurance company know about "Winter Tyre's"?
When in my mind a car is safer using them!
What next, telling insurance company about not using the "Brand Names" for tyres e.t.c.,as "Fitted From New" from the car plant,in including "Liquids"! Sounds like another "Won't Pay Out" forfeit in FAVOUR of the Insurance Company to ME!? :sad
As if they don't get enough money out of us motorists that do keep our cars legally & safely on the roads :cursing
Would not thought there would be that many people, who could afford two sets of tyres, for each car owned, let alone one! in these troubled "Money Times"! So,why all the fuss?.......CRAZY!
Welcome to RIP-OFF Britain!!!

What gets me is the fact that you're making your car safer but the insurures want to charge you more, what they should be donig is reducing your premium to incourage people to put on these winter tyres. They did the same thing over my job I put garden designer [pressed wrong button] and when I put in gardener the premium came down even though the car is not used for work or any over business.

:drink Here's a Thought?.......Do You Have To Tell Them IF You Use Snowchain's?? :scared
:S & How Would You Stand With Being Unable To Let The Insurance Company Know Of Any Change's Outside Office Hour's,When You've Done Something To You Car (Depending At The Time, Of The Weather In Your Area),To Make Your Journey In The First Place & Safely!!??
Like I Said Before...Alway's In Favour Of The Insurance Company
(Get Out Of Jail Clause For Them!!/Forfeit For US!!+i.e NO PAY-OUT!!)
But Forgetting About Being Charged OR Not Being Charged For "Winter Tyre's"
I Understand Insurance Going Up,For Engine & Body Mod's/Alloy's E.T.C
Just Be Careful...I Think This "TOPIC" Is Going To Open a Whole Can Of Worm's,& We're Be Wondering....What NEXT!! :cursing
Just,Check With Your Insurance Company!? IF You Even Put A STICKER ON!!! :laughing

Hi
The insurers only need to know if the size or width change.

After a strange few months of changing criteria and shifting patterns in the insurance market, January for us, in terms of business, surpassed January 2010 (before all these changes took place) showing that the current scheme seems to be working rather well!

So, please feel free to ring us if your car (or home) insurance is due in the next few weeks!
