Cars for the NEC.

Post by billibob »

Hi Guys.
I am looking for anybody willing to have there car on the stand at the NEC in November. It will be there from set up on Thursday until the show ends on Sunday evening. Depending on what cars are put forward as definate, a theme can be decided upon for this years show. Please think hard about this as we want to promote the club as this is a massive showcase. Cars do not have to be in concorse condition as we all know, they are used daily but a quick wash and brush up before the curtain rises wil be good enough. :laughing2 Here's hoping for a good response.

Also this is a call for anybody that can help out on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Thanks in anticipation, Ken.

I'm Lost one minute Carl has stood down [without any notice] as events then he hasn't. We've been asking for someone to sort out the NEC as Carl can't [or won't] be there, and when we get a volunteer Carl decides he still doing it but not, either he does it or he lets someone else do it. The person whose there for the 4 days must have a say in the organizing. Until this is sorted I with draw my help.

Hi Carl,

I believe there is some confusion!

The person whom is responsible and present for the whole weekend is required to fill in all the forms, undertake the risk assessment, ensure cars are present, make sure the owners know which gate to drop off, that they have the right tickets, etc along with a host of other things.

Ken has kindly volunteered to undertake the above role and be the main point of contact, and has enquired with myself/Nigel what preparation is required before the show.

Can you please make sure Ken gets all the paperwork required to do this, and also let the NEC organisers know the change of contact details so Ken will get all the relevant links for the documentation, etc.

That isn't to say you are not involved in the planning if you want to be. There is so much more to than just fill in forms. Cars for showing will need to be decided upon, stand layout, ideas for the theme will be needed, stand paraphernalia for the theme will need to be sourced/made and then worked out how it is being dropped off at the NEC and picked up. It is a big event to organise as myself and Nigel can testify to and I am sure Ken will appreciate the extra help in planning the event.
