What is the difference?

Post by Liverpoolman1 »

My log book says that my Cabriolet is a 216. What is the difference between a 216 and a 216 SE? Somwhere I read that the date of manufacture was the deciding factor. Is this correct? For info, my cabriolet is a 1997 model - red. Any thoughts on this?

The SE had leather seats, power roof and alloys as standard, the latter two were options on the standard model. If you have factory fitted leather it is an SE. I think all the cabs had rear drums.

Good point, if they had ABS, they would have discs.

So that answers my question - it does not have leather seats or a power roof or disc brakes on the rear - it is clearly a 216 standard model.

One more question if I may. it was first registered in December 1996 so what type of engine does it have? The registration document says not a thing about it. A Rover (K series?) or a Honda? All opinions welcome. :)
