Have a look here:

Not a rover 200 but a very similar process and a good write up from Jeff.

Re: Sagging Headlining
Only real difference from doing it in the car vs out of the car is gravity will be helping rather than hindering adhesion with it out of the car.
That and you can leave it to dry a lot longer, if you have somewhere to put it.
Will be doing this to the Git soon enough and as always
will be provided.
As my door cards need doing too, i opted to go Sued (effect). 3mtr

And as per my way of doing it once!!!

1 tin for a sticky layer
1 tin to stick fabric to sticky layer
1 tin door cards.
Total cost £71.73 inc postage which should cover roof and door cards nicely if i cut it right.
If your tool box doesn't contain one, i would recommend this rather than scissors (if rough edges bother you).

All looks so easy when you read it or look at pics *laughs*
Is this glue like carpet adhesive as I can get that cheap enough?

Re: Sagging Headlining
You need the high temperature stuff (otherwise it'll droop in hot weather). Otherwise yes it is contact adhesive.
I'd HIGHLY recommend doing it outside of the car as any glue overspray or drips will ruin the car interior.

Re: Sagging Headlining
I wouldn't do it in the car either as you will be sky high and everything will become tacky including your nostrils (don't squeeze together or they may stay that way)
