Just refurbishing my tank straps.

First job was to peel off the NHV rubber and clean off all the road muck and glue.

They've not come up to badly but the rubber is imprinted with the rough finish of the tank from being fitted for 25 years with 55 litres of petrol pressing down on them.

I realise there's one of the two tank straps still available - but the old ones are in good condition - plus the price is horrendous. Buying them just for the rubber is something I wouldn't do...

I've tried to source tank strap NVH rubber for 25mm straps and with sides, beads or a "C" channel section so the sides of the straps are enclosed too.

No joy - even with the classic car part specialists. There's one Chinese manufacturer but they're not on AliExpress by the looks of things.

Car Builder has 20mm and other places have much wider - 40mm and 50mm. I'd have though 25mm was pretty standard...

Anyone know where to get 25mm tank strap rubber from?
