On the one i test drove it felt standard untill 2500rpm then i could feel the extra torque of the turbo, was years ago though.
But the 620 ti i liked being able to drive off boost around town, then add some rpm & take off.
Was good at coping with the extra weight.
But alot of people use it,i would like to be a bit diferent at the same time.
Why thinking if it was possable to put a diferent honda engine in to either 200/400.
Like honda 2.2 VTEC / 2.3 also found in the 600 series.

I wouldn't bother with doing a vtec conversion on a Rover, the T16 turbo has more than enough torque and power as is. Have you had a look at a Vitesse? Come in hatchback, bucketloads of room, and just as tuneable as the 2/400 turbos and Tis :D

Never been able to find many of the vitesse series, saw a few at shows years ago.
Espcialy a hatch version, need the practability.
Did have mate that had the older SD1 vitesse 2.8 not the V8,sounded & looked like tank but still faster then my slightly moded 220 GSi.
But i assumed alot more weight then the 200/400 series.
How much is that effected even with the T16

They go very well, and for a big car, they're not really any slower than an other T16 turbo car with the usual basic mods, I got my old one up to 200brake on RR, and that was plenty fast enough to see off many more expensive and so called 'fast' cars ;)

But don't dismiss the saloons, boots are huge, more than enough space for all the kit you need for 2 small kids, and a weeks holiday away! You'll get much more stuff in an 800 saloon that you ever will in a Ti!

I did like my 620 ti interior was good, but with design couldn't load bigger stuf in.
Even in my 214 i have carried loads even washine machine with no trouble, with the split rear seats apart from anoying bench.
I prefer the look of the hatch on the ebay pic.
Didn't rearlise you could get that year example,i thought they were only done till 94-95.
Will try look into nearby cheers get proper look.
Prob hard to get one with lowish millage,or get basic model & get engine transplant T16.

Why are you going on about engine transplants? All 820's including the Vitesse came with the 2.0 T series engines.

Early Vitesses were 180 bhp, but not too hard to get up to 200 spec, Vitesse Sports (defined by the 17" alloys usually) were 197 std, as are all post 96 ones where Sport spec became standard for all Vitesses.

Low mileage ones do crop up from time to time, but the youngest ones are all going to be around 10 years old now, and these days mileage isn't the be all and end all of it, condition is far more important!

Dont know much about vitesse, mainly the 200 series.
It has helped knowing there are newer versions because condition is the main thing.
I thought it would be hard to come by a T16 version.
Some of the mods planed involve taking block & that out anyway,so trying to work out if beter to get another engine & do work on it first.
Or find good condition one then do the work, but then i wont know condition of engine internaly.
