1993 214 Cabriolet exhaust back box??

Post by g0kph »

Hi peeps, having acquired a rather half decent example 1993 214 Cabriolet, I was thinking about fitting a new exhaust back box. Having looked at the standard fitment that looks shabby even when new, I thought, OK maybe a nice sporty back box. (Sportex or similar).

Now here's the question...... Some suppliers are saying that the Cab and Hatch Boxes are a different fitting where some say they are the same. Can anyone clarify this please? Many thanks in advance. Paul.

Hi,
I've got 2 Cabbies and the flange where the rear box attaches to the centre section is different on both of them.
The angle of the flange is about 45° difference.
However the downpipe to centre section is the same on both.
It may be different exhaust manufacturers use a slightly different angle so you have change centre & rear together so they make more money !
If you can afford it the likes of Powerflow stainless system with a lifetime guarantee is the way to go, got one on my 'family' Espace it was £240 as opposed to a motor factor standard system £190. Sounds better, looks better & better performance.

Cheers Guys, Guess I'll be browsing to see what I'll be getting. It's only the rear box that I will be changing as the system is reasonably new. Paul

Hiya, I bought it from the Ebays. Arrived a couple of days later and friends from a local garage fitted it for me in a matter of minutes for free. I will find out some pics for you.
