Hi Guys

Wondered if anyone could help garage has been working on and off on this since December, injectors now working but the spark isn’t strong enough to turn the engine over, any ideas?

My mechanic is a bit stick on what the fault could be, any help /pointers appreciated , he says he might order a new coil . Would really like to get this sorted as soon as possible so I can drive it!

Obvious starting point is to check the coil's primary and secondary resistances are within specification.
Then, is the spark weak direct from the output terminal (i.e. before HT leads and distributor influence)?
Does your garage have an oscilloscope to check the ignition pulses from the ECU are healthy?
Could the crank angle sensor be causing spark mis-timing?

Good news!

Car is now up and running but needs new tyres and welding the bottom of the door sills to make it Road worthy.

Does anyone on here want to give me a quote for the welding and spray job?

I’m also going to try and get some quotes locally too.

Finally looks like it maybe getting back on the road :)

What was the fix for your engine problems in the end?

I think the mechanic said some cap on the engine somewhere had a rusty connection on it if I heard correctly, the new coil wasn’t needed.

Think it might need new breaks also, I’m hoping not tho, could be getting expensive :blink

Was it the distributer cap?
