When I purchased a new sump a couple of years ago, I turned up at the "back door" to the old X-Part facility in Hinckley. It's now moved of course.
I think they were expecting me at the front office and in fact I did go there for another order a year later.
However, turning up at the back door did give me the opportunity to take a couple of photos of the old place.
Count them in the first 2 photos - 11 loading bays! And I couldn't capture the entire warehouse as I was only allowed to stand at a counter just inside the shipping entry door.
Nevertheless, what you see probably explains why the part you want is in stock but has been put on back order because they can't find it.
The old parts stockist phrase "Oh, I've probably got one of those on the shelf" springs to mind.
Yeah, but which shelf exactly?
It reminds me of an "X-Files" like scene where they box up some alien phenomenon and store it in a warehouse that appears infinite in size as the camera pans out.
