Well new window mechanism installed and working perfectly.
Glass was well stuck in it’s runners. Not sure if this was the original cause of the motor failure or just the 5+ years it’s been stuck shut.
Will at some point open up the motor and see if it can be repaired.
It was a bit of job disconnecting the window mechanism from the glass as I couldn’t lower the mechanism , as described in the manual and is needed to access the bolts through the apertures in the door. Fortunately you can just about get a ring spanner on it .
Also didn’t realise that these bolts only required loosening rather than removing as the top plate of the mechanism has a keyhole shaped hole. Once loosened the top plate can be slid sideways to disconnect it from the glass.
You can’t see this in the pictures John provided above.
