Not really. The maestro has wash/wipe function even in 1983!
am i right in thinking that all the little symbols on the stalks light up too. that was a nice touch that they should of carried over to the 200.

Yes some lit up but others didn't. It was model dependant, and I think the late ones went to non illuminated ones to reduce cost.
