How old is the fuel in the car?.
Modern fuel deteriorates very quickly these days.
Have you changed the fuel filter.
Also check all the rubber hoses for cracks that could leak air and upset the fuel to air mixture and cause poor engine running.

Might be worth mentioning that the ECU should be making significantly different decisions about bypass air requirements depending on engine and inlet air temperatures. I'm sure I've come across, somewhere on the web, simple diagnostic procedures for verifying the temperature sensors, which output simple DC voltage levels.

Coolant sensor is new...the one that tells the ECU.
Just cleaned earth on slam panel was abit dirty and continuity using the meter was hit and miss.
Blew out the hoses that go to the ECU.
Throttle body is clean..im happy with that.

It just behaved itself on the drive...bit rough but it always has been. It feels better but ill confirm when i get chance to take it out. Ive got to retap or helicoil the damn sump plug first.

Fuel is new now...it ran on 6year old fuel absoultely fine when i first got it. Fuel filter could do with changing. Ill put that on the list

Assuming your 214 has the vertical filter held to the bulkhead with a clamp, you need a pipe spanner to shift those pipe unions.
