Hello all

Post by robkeep »

Although I have had one in the past - I have just bought a 216 cabby - collecting tomorrow, needs a little bodywork attention, but so far so good. Based in Cheshire - and just introducing myself

it'll need a new cambelt, maybe waterpump, and a bit of work on the wheelarches. Plus a good clean!!

not sure where to post this bit - got the car home today and a few queries if anyone can help.
the cambelt was last done in 2012, although it has only done 5000 miles since then - I assume it will need doing.
the 'inner' hood is a bit shot, although the outer seems ok - is it possible just to get just the inner fitted?
There is a red hood cover with it , presumably a rain cover?
It needs a few bit of rust sorting, usual Rover stuff. plus I'd like to get a more original radio - did rover do a cd player one that would fit?

Other than that, all good

Many thanks - Rob

Is it an early or late one?

The latter cabs with the bubble dash came with a K Series, some of the earlier ones had the Honda twin cam.

Anyway welcome to the forum!

its a later one - with the k series engine. I have had the cam belt replaced, the rusty bits will be sorted next week (hopefully)- the main issue then is the 'inner' hood liner is poor. The outside pvc hood is fine though, so perhaps a job for later.
Thank you for the welcome
